My Favourite Memory.

My favourite memory this year was when I went to the Richmond School Twight Light Gala because there were bouncy castles and toy jeeps. There were free food like bacon butties, sausage sizzles and stuff like that. My Mum and Dad came with me to the Gala. Room 3 helped put the stuff out and at the end the parents put the stuff away. I liked the bacon butties I had them and some sausages.

Richmond School Gala

On Friday 8 November Richmond School held their Gala Celebrations. We were celebrating and thanking our community for all their support over the years. It was held at Richmond School from 4:30 to 6:30pm, it was a twilight gala. Everything at the gala was free. Richmond School has been open for 138 years, so old teachers and pupils came to celebrate with us. Everyone showed up from room three. Richmond school was opened 1875-2013. Our school used to be across the road by the park before it was on this land. 

Earlier in the day, Room three had to get all the seats and tables out from the hall and class. We set up an outdoor cafe.There were two bouncy castles, the cheap skate people came and there were ride on jeeps as well. These are the  people I know that came my Uncle Dan, Alize, Alizes sister, and Alizes brother, my Aunty,  my Uncle Dame, Alizes Taua, Alizes Uncle T, Alizes Poua, Alizes Pouas mum Kay, Alizes Uncle Browny, De-Ellah, De-Ellahs Mum, and De-Ellahs Dad, my Mum, and my dad.

The food we gave out was candy floss, popcorn, ice blocks, water, juice, muffins, coffee, tea, fruit, sausage sizzle, meat pattie, sandwiches and bacon butties. It was all free to thank the parent helpers that helped us through the years.

My Mum, Dad and my Uncle  helped put the chairs in the hall and in the class at the end and I helped stack them. 

My Dad went on a stake board and he just about fell off.

I felt good about the gala because everything was free and I got to see my mum fall over and I got to go on a skateboard. I saw my friends like Tom and Noa. I got to race my uncle and I won once.it was a good night.

Minecraft house design

MineCraft house design. For the last two months we have completed our house designs.  I have got 10 houses in Michaels world I have got 17 houses in Noas world. We had rules and guidelines that we had to follow for examples the houses had to be Innovative and creative. The house designs had to be Eco friendly, the  houses had to be earthquake safe, the houses had to be safe and healthy eg. No TNT, no uncontrolled lava and water has to be controlled. Each house had to have bedrooms bathroom, laundry, kitchen, living room animals had to be fenced. We could have water features and art work. Now I no what eco friendly is I enjoyed building a house

 

Top team

Top Team Challenge.

Top Team Challenge was  hosted at our school. The schools that came to top team were Linwood North, Shirley Primary, Seabrook, Banks Avenue and ourselves.

There were nine challenges they were Memory maze, Hoop throw, Caterpillar, Jig saw puzzle, Sack race,  Egg and spoon, Water race, Plug the pipe and Tower of blocks.

 The event started at 1pm on Tuesday 29 October and finished at 2:30 pm.

My favourite challenge was the water race I liked it because I got really wet in the water race.

My team was called the green machines the people that were in my team were Salote, Tasneem, Shikha, and myself. My team came first in the sack race because there weren't enough  teams to compete against us. We got 100 points for the sack race and we got 469 points in total. The challenge we got the most points in was hoop toss, we got 109 points in that one.

My favourite challenge was the water activity I  liked it beacuse I got wet heaps of time.

Flick it on challenge

Lately, Room 3 have been making a silent movie. We have been completing a " Flick it on Challenge" which is a student collaborative film making challenge. There are three schools involved, there's a school is America and one up in the north island and our class.

 We got to choose our own theme and we choose how the education has changed over time.

We went to the Ferrymead, Willow Bank and then we did some filming in our ict room and rooms one and two. At Ferrymead we filmed the early European class, at willow bank we filmed pre European learning. Then  we filmed the present then the future that we filmed in the ict room. 

We needed to have a magic trick and a rubrics cube  and the time 3:15 in our movie. We took movies of room 1 2 and 3. When we send the  footage to other schools we won't get it back for a long time. When we send it they will put the music in the video and when they send their  footage to us we put music in, then we send it back to them. Every part of footage has to be 15 to 20 sec or shorter  the whole movie can only be 1 minute or shorter. 

The drivers that took us to Ferrymead and Willow Bank were Michaels mum, Whaea Jacqualene and Whaea  Sharon. We made the movie in iMovie, everyone filmed the parts that they weren't acting in. The actors were Rodney, John, Salote, Hannah, Ashleen, Rishap, Michael, Jakita, Tom, Connor and I.

 

I felt good about making this movie, I enjoyed it I liked it. 

Swimming lessons

We are doing swimming lessons we have been doing swimming lessons for one week and five days. We get three weeks of swimming. My tutor is Ange the lessons take twentyfive minutes our swimming lessons are at Jellie park. The people in my group are Rodney, Salote, Tai, John and I.  We have been doing Breast  stroke and rocket ship. On tuesday 23 september we have to bring our pj,s. we have to brig our pj just in cause on e if we fall out of a boat or fall it to the river the reason is cause clothes are heavy in water we are we're ing our  we can't take our goggles and our caps. My goal is to keep my tummy up when I'm on my back. In my opinion swimming is cool and I like it.

Ukulele

Yesterday Richmond school had a concert. Room1 was singing "Row, row your boat" and "The wheels on the bus" Room 2 sang " This old man" and " If you're happy and you know it" Room 3 sang " Don't worry be happy and YMCA." The whole school sang "We will rock you." 

Room 1 went first then Room 2 went next and then it was Room 3's turn. It was a good concert.
